KAYAK STROKE CLINIC
Want to eliminate the zig-zag, handle
turns better and have less arm fatigue?  
This full day hour is designed to give the
solo kayaker exposure to proper stoke
technique, safety and rescue skills and
overall boat maneuvering. We will help
you improve your efficiency with the proper forward stroke and
turning techniques. We will also cover the basic differences
between recreational, touring and sea kayaks including the
proper use of features such as rudders, spray skirts, grab lines
and storage areas. Rescue skills will be introduced as we cover
solo re-entry and assisted re-entry with various options for
both recreational and touring kayaks.  

MOVNG WATER STROKE CLINIC for KAYAK
Things happen so much faster when the water is moving and
surprises can pop up fast. Being able to read the water and
have a set of reliable maneuvers is essential for both safety and
enjoyment. This clinic is designed to give you those basics and
as it starts on flatwater to really work on the proper strokes
and mechanics to execute the maneuvers needed to safely eddy
in, eddy out or perform ferries. We then move to the river and
ease into the process step by step linking back to the drills that
were used on flatwater. All moving water classes include safety,
rescue and other skills appropriate for the class.  This is a 1 ½
to 2 day clinic.

BEGINNER KAYAK
This ½ day session is designed to help anyone who is new to
kayaking and really wants to get the quick instruction on safety,
carrying, getting in and out, and paddling basics (turning,
going straight, stopping). Kayaks are the fastest growing
segment of the paddle sport community as they are pretty easy
to learn, but good technique from the beginning will enhance
both your enjoyment and safety.
